In March I had the opportunity to attend a workshop by one of my favorite wedding photographers, Julie Paisley of Julie Paisley Photography. I was a roller coaster of emotions that day, not knowing what to expect, since this was my very first workshop. What I would feel on my way home though was more than I would have ever thought.
The past few years my business was definitely in the newborn stage. I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with it and what I really wanted this business to be to me. All I knew was that I loved taking pictures. So I dabbled in a little of everything from newborn photography to senior portraits to weddings.
I think I always knew that my heart was in wedding photography. I loved love, telling stories of love, seeing the anxiousness on the grooms face as he waits to see his bride, capturing friends and family breaking it down on the dance floor in celebration, and all the little moments that make memories last forever. But because it was too much to have my own business, make time for my son, focus on my school, work my full time job, be a good girlfriend, I let my busy life trump my passion.
Then I took this workshop, and it rejuvenated my desire and passion to capture the moments that really matter...that my heart really loves. Since March, I have thrown myself back into the business I belong in, rebranded my website, focused my efforts on what I'm passionate about and been able to capture moments of love for some amazing couples. I can honestly say that I have just felt at peace with myself again. And honestly...it all started with one little Click and Chat in the Old City of Philadelphia.
